Dorset has a long tradition of smuggling, shipwrecking and even piracy.
This cosy single storey converted stone barn is ideal for a couple with a double bedded room (room for a travel cot), ample storage and newly fitted ensuite bathroom with large shower. The living area has a high vaulted beamed ceiling and wood burning stove with a sofa and armchair. The country kitchen area is fully equipped and has a dining area.
A bath towel is provided for each guest but please bring your own beach/pool towels. Beds are made up just before your arrival with fresh linen. There is also a welcome pack to start your stay with locally made treat and some Dorset tea, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets (where applicable), soap, tea towel, dishcloth, 2 toilet rolls, a free basket of logs, kindling and fire lighters (where appropriate) will be provided. Free High Speed Wi-Fi. Each cottage has a hairdryer.
Smugglers Cottage is heated by a log burner and electricity which is metered. To encourage you to ‘Save the Planet’ we share the cost with you 50/50. This should amount to £2 or £3 per day in the colder months. There is no charge during the warm peak season from July 1st – Aug 31st. All monies go to Friends of the Earth charity (Reg. No. 1012357).
