About Berehayes

Berehayes Farm was built in the early 16th century and was established as a holiday cottage complex in 1987 and continues to provide great holiday accommodation over 30 years later. The complex is situated less than three miles from the Jurassic Coastline in West Dorset and only 5 miles from the Devon border.

Our eight traditional, self catering holiday cottages are set around a delightful courtyard and feature a superb indoor heated swimming pool.

Our cottages are set in the village of Whitchurch Canonicorum, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and the surrounding countryside is some of the most spectacular in Britain providing amazing walks and unforgettable views of the famous Jurassic Coastline. Berehayes is the perfect destination for family or small group get-togethers or a quiet retreat.

Sustainability focused

At Berehayes we are committed to a sustainable future and to improving the social, economic and environmental well being of the community.

Partnerships
Working with and promoting local business is important to our business. Employing local people and buying products locally reduces our carbon footprint.

Energy efficiency
LED lighting has been adopted throughout the complex which reduces power consumption. A £12,000 Air Source Heat Pump has been installed to heat the swimming pool which reduces the power consumption by up to 75%.
Our new electricity provider uses certified renewable, zero carbon electricity as standard which is backed by electricity from renewable energy sources and nuclear generation. We have installed charging points for electric vehicles to help reduce the use of fossil fuels.

Plastics
We avoid the use of plastic to keep our oceans clean. Refilling single use plastic cleaning products and avoiding plastic bags where possible.

Water conservation
Rain water from the roofs is filtered and used to fill and top up the swimming pool.

Waste reduction.
We provide separate bins in each cottage for food waste, recycling, bottles and landfill.
We have a contract with Dorset Waste Partnership who collect, sort and manage our waste to minimize the impact environmentally.

Afterall, there is no planet B!
